The delights of live music
Live music that is well played leaves a lasting impression
on its listeners. People who have only heard string
music played from discs, television or radio are often
surprised by the pleasure they feel when they hear
it live, with no loudspeakers and in the setting of
the event.
The Quartet's repertoire is extensive, covering a
very wide spectrum of music arranged specially for
string quartets. It ranges through Scott Joplin jazz
pieces, Gershwin classics, violin favourites such
as Salut d' Amour, tuneful pieces from Bach, Haydn
and Handel and songs from the shows such as The King
and I. On booking the quartet for a function, the
client is sent a repertoire list and the programme
of music they prefer is discussed with them. The type
of music can be exactly what the client wishes for
their particular occasion.

A professional Quartet
All members of the Halcyon String Quartet are professional
players with many years of experience playing in national
orchestras throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
They particularly enjoy playing together as a small
ensemble, creating an enjoyable atmosphere and giving
pleasure to their audience.
The Quartet has long experience of playing at weddings
and other functions and their performances bring a
special atmosphere to any occasion.
